Manipal Museum of Anatomy & Pathology houses 3000+ specimens and samples related to anatomy. Located in Manipal, an educational and banking town near Udupi in coastal Karnataka, Manipal Museum of Anatomy & Pathology is one of the largest of its kind in Asia.

Opened to the public in 1954, Manipal Museum of Anatomy & Pathology is the brainchild of Dr. SS Godbole, who was first Anatomy Professor at KMC (Kasturba Medical College) in Manipal. Dr Godbole’s carefully crafted process for dissecting; processing and mounting dead creatures are followed like a bible even today. Dr Godbole has donated over 650 specimens from his personal collection for the museum.

Apart from displaying body parts of creatures, their structure, The Museum of Anatomy & Pathology has a dedicated section on lifestyle induced diseases that may affect the human body. Other key exhibits include the skull of a whale, an elephant and the skeleton of king cobra.
